Founder’s Story

Hellooo, I’m DeMarcus St. Julian — a finance major at LSU with a lifelong love for dogs, food, and community.
I was born into a family rooted in New Iberia, Louisiana, a small town known for two things that shaped me early:
a deep love for dogs and some of the best food in America.
While I was raised primarily in New Orleans and moved around often growing up, New Iberia always stayed with me. It’s where I learned what good food really means — food made with care, tradition, and intention. That mindset would later become the foundation of Doggos Beg N Bistro.
Where the Idea Really Began
Some people may not know this, but New Iberia is where the Blue Dog art originated — a simple, soulful idea that grew into something much bigger. That concept stuck with me: how something small, local, and honest can turn into a global symbol.
—> Doggos Beg N Bistro was inspired by that same thought.

But the real spark came from my grandmother (love you nana)
One day, I asked her why she was making sweet potatoes and mixing tuna into our dog’s bowl instead of serving regular dog food. She looked at me and said:
“If you were a dog, would you want to eat the same processed food every single day?”
That question changed everything.
Her love for cooking — and her belief that dogs deserve the same care we give ourselves — planted the seed for what would eventually become Doggos Beg N Bistro.
From Curiosity to Conviction
The idea stayed with me. Then one day, while driving to buy dog food, I passed a drive-thru water business in Texas that sold nothing but water — different types, different flavors, all grab-and-go. And it was thriving.
I remember thinking:
If people can build a business around fresh water… why hasn’t anyone done this for fresh dog food?
That moment pushed me into research mode.
I began studying what dogs can actually eat — and quickly realized something shocking:
Dogs can safely eat many of the same whole foods we do.
Yet no one was offering fresh, real dog food in a convenient, daily, grab-and-go model.
So I decided to build it.
Building Doggos Beg N Bistro
While studying finance at LSU, I spent over a year doing side research on what dogs need to thrive — not just survive. I even wrote a research paper during my sophomore year focused on canine nutrition and ingredient functionality.
My first menu items were inspired by veterinary-informed pet nutrition cookbooks, including work by pet nutritionists like Tessa Marks, and I continue to learn every single day.
I’m still studying. Still testing. Still improving.
Because this isn’t about perfection — it’s about progress.
Why This Matters to Me

Doggos Beg N Bistro, LLC allows me to combine:
- My business and finance education
- My love for dogs
- My family’s cooking traditions
- And my passion for a pet community-based impact
"Every time I pop up, serve food, or talk to dog owners, I feel something I’ve never felt in any classroom or internship."
It’s the happiest I’ve ever been in my professional life.
Looking Ahead
"Doggos Beg N Bistro wasn’t built to replace how you feed your dog overnight. It was built to introduce better food, one bowl at a time — with transparency, education, and heart at the center of everything we do. And this is only the beginning..."
